  1. Prepare Your Tools: Ensure your mixing bowl and beaters are clean and dry. Any moisture can affect the texture of your frosting.
  2. Beat the Butter: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter on medium speed until creamy and smooth (about 2 minutes).
  3. Add the Powdered Sugar: Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, one cup at a time, beating on low speed initially to prevent a sugar cloud, then increase to medium speed. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
