  • Author: Alessia

Ingredients

Scale

To make these mouth-watering sweet and tangy crab skewers, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 pound of crab meat (preferably lump or backfin)
  • 12 wooden skewers (soaked in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning)
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, finely grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (optional for heat)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

Creating these delectable crab skewers is a straightforward process. Follow these steps to ensure your skewers turn out perfectly:

  1. Prepare the Crab Meat:
Gently pick through the crab meat to remove any shells or cartilage. Be careful not to break up the lumps of crab meat too much.
  2. Make the Glaze:
In a medium bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, lime juice, ginger, garlic, and sriracha sauce (if using). Whisk until all ingredients are well combined.
  3. Marinate the Crab:
Place the crab meat in a shallow dish and pour half of the glaze over it. Toss gently to coat the crab meat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for 20-30 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  4. Preheat the Grill:
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Lightly brush the grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Skewer the Crab:
Carefully thread the marinated crab meat onto the soaked wooden skewers, being mindful not to overcrowd them.
  6. Grill the Skewers:
Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the crab meat is heated through and has grill marks.
  7. Apply Remaining Glaze:
Brush the remaining glaze over the skewers during the last minute of grilling, allowing it to caramelize slightly.
  8. Garnish and Serve:
Remove the skewers from the grill and transfer them to a serving platter. Sprinkle with chopped cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side.
