  • Author: Alessia

Ingredients

Scale

Before you start grilling, make sure you have all the necessary ingredients. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 pound of large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional for extra spice)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Wooden or metal skewers

Instructions

Follow these simple steps to create your own Smoky Paprika Shrimp Skewers:

  1. Prepare the Skewers:
    • If you’re using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning during grilling.
  2. Marinate the Shrimp:
    • In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
    • Add the shrimp to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the marinade.
    • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. Preheat the Grill:
    • Heat your grill to medium-high heat, approximately 375°F (190°C).
  4. Skewer the Shrimp:
    • Thread the marinated shrimp onto the skewers, ensuring they are spaced evenly.
  5. Grill the Shrimp:
    • Place the skewers on the preheated grill.
    • Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are opaque and have a nice char.
  6. Finish with Lemon:
    • Once the shrimp are cooked, remove them from the grill and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top for a burst of freshness.
