Mini Nutella Puff Pastries Recipe

  • Author: Alessia

Ingredients

Scale

Before you begin, gather the following ingredients for your mini Nutella puff pastries:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup Nutella or chocolate hazelnut spread
  • 1 egg or 2 tablespoons milk (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

Creating these delectable pastries is a straightforward process. Follow these simple steps, and you’ll have a batch of mini Nutella puff pastries ready in no time:

  1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This ensures a consistent temperature for perfectly baked pastries.
  2. Prepare the Puff Pastry
Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to prevent sticking. Cut it into 2-inch squares using a sharp knife or a pastry cutter.
  3. Add the Filling
Place a small spoonful of Nutella in the center of each square. Be careful not to overfill, as the Nutella can ooze out during baking.
  4. Seal the Pastries
Fold the corners of each square towards the center, pinching them together to seal the pastry. This will help contain the Nutella and create a neat, compact package.
  5. Apply the Egg Wash
Brush the tops of the pastries with beaten egg or milk. This will give them a beautiful golden color as they bake.
  6. Bake the Pastries
Arrange the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until they are golden and puffed.
  7. Finish with a Dusting of Sugar
Once baked, remove the pastries from the oven and let them cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar before serving for an extra touch of sweetness.
