Ingredients

Scale

Before we begin, let’s gather all the necessary ingredients for our Cajun Crab Deviled Eggs. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 12 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 cup lump crab meat (fresh or canned)
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped green onions (scallions)
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
  • Paprika, for garnish

Instructions

Creating Cajun Crab Deviled Eggs is a straightforward process. Follow these steps to achieve perfect results:

Step 1: Boil the Eggs

  1. Place the eggs in a large saucepan and cover them with cold water, ensuring the water level is about an inch above the eggs.
  2. Bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat.
  3. Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat, cover it with a lid, and let the eggs sit for 10-12 minutes.
  4. After the time has elapsed, transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water to cool for at least 5 minutes. This will make them easier to peel.

Step 2: Prepare the Egg Filling

  1. Peel the cooled eggs and slice them in half lengthwise. Carefully remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl.
  2. Mash the egg yolks with a fork until they reach a smooth consistency.
  3. Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder to the mashed yolks. Mix until well combined.
  4. Gently fold in the lump crab meat, green onions, and parsley. Season with salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper if desired.

Step 3: Assemble the Deviled Eggs

  1. Spoon the yolk mixture back into the egg white halves using a spoon or a piping bag for a more professional look.
  2. Sprinkle paprika over the filled eggs for a touch of color and added flavor.

Step 4: Chill and Serve

  1. Place the deviled eggs on a serving platter and chill them in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  2. Once chilled, serve your Cajun Crab Deviled Eggs as a delightful appetizer or snack.
